Jacqueline’s passion has always been drawing people. She traced comic book characters as a child and wanted to be a fashion illustrator when she grew up. Having graduated from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca., she thought she would work for the many department stores that featured fashion advertisements. Unfortunately, photography soon replaced those illustrations in the 80’s and she did storyboards for TV and various agencies.
Upon learning that film & costume designers were in need of sketch artists, Jacqueline updated her portfolio with costume illustrations and joined the Costume Designers Guild in 1995. She was recommended by several colleagues who worked in the entertainment industry and has since sketched for many costume designers on features as well as TV and commercials . She was also the Assistant Costume Designer for 6 seasons on the hit show, “ Desperate Housewives”.
One of the other jobs that came along while freelancing was teaching. She has taught at FIDM, UCLA, & LA Trade Tech.
She enjoys sharing her love of drawing the human body with her students and still teaches part-time. Jacqueline has been asked to be a guest speaker at various colleges as she loves what she does and enjoys encouraging the new generation of artists to follow their passion. As technology is changing the face of illustration, Jacqueline is continuing her education to incorporate Procreate & Painter programs with the traditional illustrations drawn by hand.
She would like for you to enjoy her website and is available for personal commissions. Please feel free to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
